In Python, a dictionary is a data structure used to store key-value pairs. Dictionaries are enclosed in curly braces {} and the keys and values are separated by colons.

Here is an example of how to create a dictionary in Python:

#creating a dictionary using curly braces and colons
student = {'name': 'John', 'age': 25, 'is_graduated': True}

#creating a dictionary using dict() constructor
student = dict(name='John', age=25, is_graduated=True)

You can also create a dictionary from a list of tuples where each tuple contains a key-value pair:

student_data = [('name', 'John'), ('age', 25), ('is_graduated', True)]
student = dict(student_data)

You can access, add, remove, or modify elements in a dictionary, and use various dictionary methods such as keys(), values() and items().
